Supporting our local community forms a key part of who we are at Minster, which is why we hosted our own Yellow Yorkshire Day to raise funds for Yorkshire Air Ambulance. Yorkshire Air Ambulance is an independent air ambulance charity which provides a life-saving rapid response emergency service to 5 million people across Yorkshire.

Our colleagues raised money with a number of yellow-themed activities in honour of their yellow air ambulances. Activities included a bake sale and lemonade stall, as well as a yellow themed dress down in the office. The day also saw our colleagues take part in our “best Yorkshire” fancy dress competition, where they were challenged to channel the Yorkshire mind and soul with creative fancy dress. In total, we managed to raise an impressive £422 as well an up front donation of £,1000 to Yorkshire Air Ambulance before the event to support running costs.

Alexandra Bastow, a Paralegal in our serious injury team who led the fundraiser, said: “It makes me extremely proud to work for an employer that really puts charities at the heart of everything it does. I decided to suggest Yorkshire Air Ambulance as a charity partner as it is such a worthy cause that really fits with what we do here at Minster Law. Some of our clients have needed the assistance of the Air Ambulance following an accident and it is a really valuable service that really does save lives. The charity relies on donations to keep them going and I am proud that Minster Law is a part of this.”

Kerry Dwyer, Director of Fundraising at Yorkshire Air Ambulance, said: “On behalf of the Yorkshire Air Ambulance, I would like to thank Minster Law for turning Yorkshire Day Yellow to raise vital funds and awareness for the charity. With daily running costs of £12,000 this really does mean a lot to us. We are thrilled to be working with them as one of their charity partners.”
