We stand together with our community to make a positive impact on its future prosperity

Providing support to our local community is important to everyone at Minster Law and a key part of who we are is our charity and corporate social responsibility (CSR) activity. We have successfully raised and donated funds for many good causes over the years and we’re pleased that this is set to continue.

We work with registered charities and groups that help to improve the lives of others within our local communities.

We are passionate about supporting our communities and charities through committed partnerships, as well as matched funding, sponsorship, fundraising, and volunteering.

Our CSR takes a bottom-up approach and our colleagues shape our strategy and the charities we support. Every employee at Minster commits one day a year to helping charitable causes as part of our company policy, pledging almost 3,500 hours of time to give back to our community.

Through our partnerships, we’ve been able to provide unique experiences, opportunities, and skill sharing to some of our communities most disadvantaged members.

In the last year, we were proud to have generated over £85,000 in value supporting the local community and charities.

Our dedication to supporting our community has been recognised in the industry and we were highly commended in 2023 and was crowned the 2020 winner for ‘Giving it Back to Charity’ at the Insurance CX Awards.

Who we support

Here are just some of the charities we support in our local area to make a difference.

FareShare

FareShare Yorkshire helps tackle the food poverty issues across the county by redistributing surplus food across the region. FareShare Yorkshire source and redistribute quality, in-date surplus food which would otherwise have gone to waste. They turn an environmental problem into a social solution.

Forget Me Not Children's Hospice

Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice supports children with life-shortening conditions – plus their families. They help hundreds of children, and their families, through their Hospice at Home service and at their fantastic purpose-built building – Russell House – in Huddersfield.

Kirkwood Hospice

Kirkwood Hospice helps to improve the quality of life for local people, against all the odds. It provides specialist palliative care for the terminally ill in Kirklees.

Kidz Aware

Kidz Aware exists to ensure that all children and adults with a disability have the opportunities to achieve their aspirations in life. They believe that everyone can make a valuable contribution to society, but people with disabilities face greater challenges, and they want all individuals with any kind of disability to have a voice.

Wetwheels

Wetwheels provide the opportunity for all disabled people, including those with profound and complex disabilities, to access the sea in a safe, stimulating, and rewarding way on board specially-built, fully accessible powerboats. By offering the opportunity to experience the sea – not just as passengers, but as active participants – the charity builds confidence and improves physical and mental wellbeing.
