Minster Law donates VR headset to support neurorehabilitation at Sheffield Children’s Hospital
Minster Law has recently donated a VR headset to the neuro-oncology rehabilitation therapy team at Sheffield Children’s Hospital, supporting the recovery of children living with neurological injury or illness.
The donation builds on Minster Law’s existing partnership with the Major Trauma Signposting Partnership (MTSP), through which the firm supports children and families affected by traumatic injuries at Sheffield Children’s Hospital. As one of only two firms appointed to the MTSP legal panel, Minster Law works alongside a dedicated specialist advisor and a Citizens Advice representative to provide legal guidance and rehabilitation support to young patients and their families.
The VR headset will give the therapy team a new tool to engage children in rehabilitation. Using immersive technology offers an alternative, more enjoyable approach to therapy sessions, encouraging children to participate more fully in their activities and supporting better outcomes over time.

Hannah Keable, Major Trauma and Rehabilitation Coordinator at Sheffield Children’s Hospital, said: “We are extremely thankful to Minster Law for the fantastic donation of a VR headset to our neuro-oncology rehabilitation therapy team. This piece of equipment will be used to support the rehabilitation of children who are recovering from neurological injury or illness whilst a patient at Sheffield Children’s Hospital. Using this technology will provide an alternative and fun approach to a child or young person’s therapy, encouraging better engagement in activity, and improving longer term outcomes.”
The donation was presented by Stacy Clements and Daniel Bates, Solicitor at Minster Law, and received by Hannah Keable alongside Debbie Biggane, Occupational Therapist, and Stavroula Ntaountaki, Physiotherapist.
Minster Law’s legal team supporting families through the MTSP partnership includes Matthew Nash and Daniel Bates, who work with paediatric trauma cases involving traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury and amputations, focusing on early intervention and specialised rehabilitation to maximise the potential for recovery.
