New Bristol office marks latest step in national expansion strategy
Minster Law, the leading national specialist personal injury law firm, has acquired the personal injury business of ARAG Law, strengthening its position as one of the UK’s most trusted specialist providers of insurer-led personal injury legal services.
The transaction sees Minster Law acquire ARAG Law’s personal injury legal team and its active caseload. Building on a long-standing relationship between the two organisations, the agreement ensures continuity for insurer partners and clients while enabling a seamless transition of services.
The acquisition establishes a new Minster Law office in the centre of Bristol, continuing the firm’s planned expansion of its regional office footprint following the opening of its London office earlier in 2026. With existing operations in Wakefield and the Glasgow office of Minster Law Scotland, Minster Law continues to grow its national presence to better serve clients and insurer partners, and to attract the best personal injury talent across the UK.
It is the second acquisition of its kind for Minster Law in recent years, following the purchase of Irwin Mitchell’s high-volume personal injury business in 2022. The two deals reflect Minster Law’s long-term strategy of selectively acquiring high-quality personal injury businesses that complement its specialist operating model and support continued growth in an evolving market.
Shirley Woolham, Chief Executive Officer of Minster Law, said: “This acquisition is another deliberate step in our long-term growth strategy and reflects our confidence in the future of specialist personal injury legal services.
“The personal injury market has changed fundamentally over recent years. What was once viewed as a relatively standard legal service has become an increasingly specialist discipline, requiring sustained investment in legal expertise, technology, operational capability and the ability to deliver consistently high-quality outcomes at scale.”
“As organisations continue to assess where that capability is best delivered, we’re seeing specialist personal injury firms like Minster playing an increasingly important role. Personal injury hasn’t become less important, but because it has become more specialised.”
“At Minster, personal injury is our core business. We have continued to invest in our people, our operating model and our technology because we believe specialist providers are best placed to deliver the outcomes that clients and insurer partners increasingly expect.”
“We’re confident in the strategy we’ve chosen, and we’ll continue to pursue opportunities that complement our business, extend our reach and strengthen our position as one of the UK’s leading specialist personal injury law firms.”
Mike Lowe, Director of Law at ARAG Law, said: “This is an excellent deal for both Minster Law and ARAG Law, furthering Minster Law’s strategic expansion into delivering specialist personal injury services and providing continuity for ARAG Law’s clients, colleagues and business partners.”
“We’re confident that the transfer of any ongoing claims will be seamless and, in establishing a regional office very close to ARAG Law’s Bristol Headquarter, Minster Law offers the best new home for the team.”
Following consultation, all of ARAG Law’s personal injury team colleagues will transfer to Minster Law’s established personal injury operation in the new Bristol office, ensuring continuity for existing clients while benefiting from the scale, investment and specialist focus of one of the UK’s leading personal injury practices.
