Understanding Groin Injuries

Groin muscles pull the legs together and help with other movements of the hip joint.

You can experience mild to severe symptoms of a groin strain, depending on the degree of the injury.

Symptoms you may experience include:

  • Pain in the inner thigh or anywhere from the hip to the knee
  • Decreased strength in the upper leg
  • Swelling
  • Bruising
  • Difficulty walking or running without pain
  • A snapping sound at the moment of injury

The severity of the injury can be classified or graded within three grades. More information about the severity of groin injuries and their grades can be found at Healthline.

How can Minster Law support you?

Motorcyclists are particularly vulnerable to suffering from groin injuries, due to the differing environment compared to other accidents.

During a typical motorcycle crash impact, the motorcyclist will slide forward into the top of the gas tank, handlebars, steering head, or radio. This means that a potential groin injury is a very real concern.

In addition, a groin injury may be coupled with other additional injuries, making for a complicated route to recovery for an injured individual.

We have a specialist bike team at Minster Law who will work to organise treatment early, meaning you can focus on your recovery while we handle the rest of your claim.
