Minster Law launches apprenticeship scheme

We believe in investing in our people and pride ourselves on providing a positive, supportive working environment with a structured programme of development opportunities. Our new apprenticeship scheme aims to give early learners the opportunity to kick-start their career within the legal industry by enabling them to work alongside our experienced legal professionals who can help them grow and develop.

We adopt a blended approach to learning and development and we’re constantly identifying ongoing training opportunities to ensure our employees are well-equipped to do the best they can for our clients. Where possible, we look to promote internal staff into emerging roles first – in 2016 we filled 114 roles with existing employees (32% of all positions filled). Our apprenticeship scheme will complement this by introducing new talent into the company and developing them into legal professionals of the future.

Our apprentices will be part of our Early Careers Programme – they will receive all the support they need throughout their training from a dedicated mentor and the steering group who manage all developing employees. Each apprentice will have their own development plan and schedule as they move around the business, to ensure they gain the legal and business acumen they need to complete their apprenticeship.

Minster Law Talent and Engagement Manager, Amy Thirtle, said: “Our apprenticeship scheme is a fantastic opportunity for anyone who is looking to start a career in the legal industry, but has no prior experience and is willing to start at entry-level. In addition to the study provided by the educational provider, a comprehensive programme of professional and personal training is also available throughout the two-year apprenticeship. And, for the right apprentices, there are lots of additional opportunities to further their career with Minster Law on completion of the course.”
