Background
I graduated from Staffordshire University in 1996 with an LLB Hons in Law, and later from the University of Huddersfield in 2007 with a PG Dip in Legal Practice while working full time. I qualified as a solicitor in 2008 and have worked at a number of national firms since then.
I've worked as a personal injury claims handler and solicitor since 1998, giving me 28 years' experience running personal injury claims across road traffic accidents, pedestrian and motorcycle claims, and accidents at work and public liability.
I like to be able to build a good working relationship with my clients. Sometimes the best thing I can do is listen quietly to their concerns and try and put measures in place to help them to adjust to the differences in their lives. This may include obtaining private treatment or obtaining interim payments if they cannot work. Sometimes I am able to put them back in the position they were prior to the accident but more often than not it involves helping them to adjust to the new situation they find themselves in with all the necessary tools to make their daily lives more manageable.
I'm also passionate about mentoring junior fee earners and helping them develop their skills.
