Monique Medd

Serious Injury Associate
Background

I have over 20 years’ experience of acting exclusively for claimants in personal injury claims which have been caused by a variety of different accidents, including road traffic accidents and accidents at work. I worked for a national trade union law firm for 17 years and gained experience of every type of personal injury claim, where I also led a team of solicitors. I have specialised in claims involving serious and catastrophic injuries for many years, especially those involving serious traumatic brain injuries (including acting for a claimant who sustained a serious traumatic brain injury caused by a terrorist attack), injuries leading to amputation, multiple serious orthopaedic injuries and fatal claims. I joined Minster Law in 2023 and my current case load consists mostly of cases with an estimated value of £500,000 or above. I have successfully concluded complex cases with values exceeding £1m and I am very familiar with strategic litigation on high value matters. I am very empathetic and strive to build a relationship of trust with my clients and their families as the claims journey can sometimes be a long and challenging one for them. I strongly believe in walking alongside my clients on that journey and supporting them throughout.

What are you most passionate about in your job?

I am driven to get the best possible result for each and every client, from a financial perspective, and also from a recovery perspective. I support my clients through the claim from day one by meeting them face-to-face as soon as possible to establish a rapport and to offer support, not only to the injured client themselves, but also to their families who are often deeply affected when a loved one suffers serious injury. I am passionate about arranging private rehabilitation treatment to give an injured person access to the best possible private treatment as soon as possible to assist with their physical and mental recovery. I have seen first-hand what a difference early and effective rehabilitation can make to gain maximum recovery from catastrophic injuries. I am tenacious and seek to ensure that my clients are compensated for all their past financial losses and their serious injuries, as well as ensuring that they will be provided for in the future.

What are your personal interests outside of work?

Outside of work, I volunteer for a charity who support struggling families. I love travelling and spending time in my garden, but in reality, I spend most of my free time on the side of a hockey or football pitch cheering my daughters on in their latest sporting endeavours!
