Background
I grew up wanting be a lawyer and I think I was drawn in by the classic legal dramas of the times. It was a combination of the lawyers’ ability to investigate, analyse and solve puzzles; but more than that it was that their work was always intended to help someone in need and restore a feeling of justice.
As I was studying I considered what path I wanted to take and eventually decided that the best opportunity to help people was to assist victims of accidents, people who had suffered due to the acts of another. Throughout my career I have specialised in helping those who have suffered serious life changing injuries to obtain the best rehabilitation, care and a return to the best possible quality of life.
For over 15 years I have helped the victims of accidents and their families to rebuild their lives after a devastating event has taken place. I have specialised in helping people with brain injuries, spinal cord damage and amputees by always putting their needs and goals at the heart of what I do. I have supported survivors of these injuries by being actively involved in various charities including acting as Chair for a Headway support group.
Every person and family unit are unique with different goals and priorities so I pride my self on ensuring I focus on helping to achieve these. I will always give open and clear advice to you at every step to make sure there remains an understanding of how we are moving towards the conclusion you want.
Any person and family who are a victim of a serious injury find themselves in turmoil filled with a mixture of fear, grief and uncertainty. It is a major change and loss to their lives and the start of a long road back to some sense of normality. To be asked to help this process and be a pillar of support is a huge privilege and honour. I take this privilege very seriously in my obligation to help you on the journey of recovery and to repay the trust put in me to do so. From day one I will take the mystery out of the process ahead explaining everything clearly and providing you with as much information as possible. I will make sure we identify your needs and goals so I can tailor each step to ensure these are met.
I have never in my career met a family or an individual whose first wish is not that the accident simply didn’t happen, that I could turn back time and fix it all. I wish I could. What I can and will do is take every step available to get you as close as is possible to that wish. I will strive to ensure that you are as fully recovered as can be achieved, have any and all assistance or care needs met and have a compensatory award to give certainty that these things will remain in place as long as you need them to.
