Being able to support our local communities is important to everyone at Minster Law and a key part of who we are is our charity and Corporate Social Responsibility commitments. Our dedicated Make a Difference team works with registered charities and groups that help to improve the lives of others through volunteering days, event sponsorship and other fundraising initiatives, and we aim to match-fund as many colleague fundraising activities as possible.

Over the past year, Minster Law colleagues from Wakefield, York and London have helped to raise more than £40,000 for local charities and causes, including the Wakefield Hospice, St Catherine’s Church, WetWheels Foundation, Safe And Sound Homes (SASH), St Leonard’s Hospice and the Hackney Soup Kitchen. In addition, support is pledged throughout the year to national charities and appeals including Comic Relief, Crohn’s UK, AgeUK and Save the Children.

However, Minster Law’s support of the local community isn’t just through raising money and collecting donations. All colleagues are actively encouraged to pledge some of their time to organisations or worthy causes that rely on volunteers.

In the past year, our colleagues have undertaken more than 250 volunteering days – the equivalent of 1,771 unpaid hours – to help important causes such as the North York Moors National Park, Poppleton Garden Railway Nursery, Nuzzlets animal charity and Beech Cliffe care home. Colleagues also helped to collect and distribute more than 110 Christmas food hampers on behalf of local charities in Wakefield, York and London during the festive period.

Minster Law Managing Director, Michael Warren, said: “Supporting the many worthwhile causes in our local area is really important to us at Minster Law, and I’m immensely proud of the effort everyone goes to – year after year – to give something back to the wider community. We encourage all our colleagues to participate in volunteering days, charity support initiatives and fundraising and are pleased to be able to help others in whatever small way we can.”
