Back to Biking initiative wins prestigious award
Our innovative Back to Biking programme, which we launched earlier this year, aims to help support clients get back on the road after an accident. And, we’re delighted to announce that the campaign has just been recognised by the wider personal injury industry at the annual Eclipse Proclaim Personal Injury Awards.
Back to Biking was created for those who are physically able to ride but find it difficult emotionally or mentally to return to riding after an accident. The free-to-take-part programme invites participants to go on a three-phase journey through addressing their emotional/confidence issues to, eventually, undertaking a supported road ride.
Following his motorcycle accident in 2015, our client Dragos Niculae was keen to get back on the road but had been struggling with the symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). With the help of our Back to Biking programme, he successfully returned to two wheels this summer and is now enjoying riding his Suzuki SV650 motorcycle again.
Promotion of the Back to Biking programme was far-reaching, including coverage in the national and local press, social media and across multiple online resources. We were also particularly keen to raise awareness of the unseen (and often unspoken) effects of motorcycle accidents in the specialist biking media, and worked together with our specialist motorcycle insurance partner, Bennetts, on various aspects of the campaign. This success led to us being awarded with the ‘Marketing Campaign of the Year’ accolade at the prestigious Personal Injury Awards ceremony on 29 November.
Speaking about the Back to Biking programme, fellow biker and Minster Law Managing Director, Michael Warren, said: “We work with so many clients who feel they are unable to get back on to a bike after being involved in an accident. For many riders, their motorcycle isn’t a mode of transport, it’s a way of life, and we wanted to find a way to help these riders get back to the lifestyle they once enjoyed. It is great to see how well Dragos has done and how far he has come and we’re looking forward to helping even more riders get back on the road next year.

One of the judges at the Personal Injury Awards, Stephen Webber, said: “The judges felt that the amount of interest generated in the press and social media, as well as engagement with employees and the benefits to clients, made this campaign a worthy win.”
