Dionne Barraclough shares her experience starting at Minster Law as a paralegal.
In October 2023, I joined Minster Law as a paralegal in the Serious Injury department, assisting an associate legal executive on high value cases. I had previously completed my Paralegal Level 3 apprenticeship and knew that I wanted to work in the personal injury department.
I came across Minster Law on LinkedIn and had a keen interest in their Serious Injury department. Upon starting, I was a little worried joining such a large team, hoping that I wouldn’t get lost among the paralegals.
As soon as I started, I knew this wasn’t the case. The training that you go through at the start ensures that you are up to speed with what you’re doing and when within your first month of starting. The training is thorough and covers everything.
The support you receive from the other paralegals and team hubs has helped in abundance. It never feels like you’re asking a stupid question and help is always there.
No two days at Minster Law are the same. As paralegals, you are always learning something new and getting set new tasks to complete. I enjoy the feeling of supporting clients through a difficult journey and knowing what I am doing is making a difference.
Since starting, I have developed my knowledge further in the personal injury sector and hope to progress my career further at Minster Law.
Minster Law’s serious injury team is one of the largest in the UK, with specialists in head and brain injuries, spinal injuries, and injuries resulting in amputation and limb damage. Find out more about working in serious injury and what opportunities are available in the team.
