Early interim payments for your family

Where appropriate, we will seek interim payments as early as possible to help cover immediate financial needs, including mortgage or rent payments and travelling costs. Regular interim payments will continue to be requested to cover all ongoing needs enabling you to focus on your recovery.

We aim to be with you within two hours

Wherever you are in the country, we aim to be with you in person within two hours. Meeting face to face means we can understand what you and your family need straight away, answer your questions and start putting the right support in place.

Early access to expert support

From the outset, we will work to appoint a specialist case manager who can assess your needs and coordinate rehabilitation, treatment and support at the earliest stage of your recovery.

Making your immediate needs a priority

A case manager appointed as soon as possible

We seek the input of a specialist case manager early, so rehabilitation and support can begin at the point it can make the biggest difference to your recovery.

How we can support you and your family
  • Understanding what immediate care, equipment or support you or your family need
  • Requesting early interim payments to cover costs like mortgage or rent payments, travelling expenses, and care for children or a partner
  • Instructing a case manager straight away, so you have access to rehabilitation specialists and your treatment can start as soon as possible
  • Explaining the claims process in clear, straightforward terms, so you understand what to expect and the support that is available to you at every stage

Accommodation Assessment

Following a life-changing injury, a case manager will usually visit you in hospital to carry out an Immediate Needs Assessment. This assessment identifies your immediate rehabilitation, care and support requirements, helping to ensure the right assistance is put in place as early as possible.

As part of this process, the case manager will assess your pre-accident accommodation to determine whether it remains suitable for your needs. They will consider factors such as accessibility, safety and independence, and whether adaptations, alternative accommodation or specialist equipment may be required to support your return home and long-term recovery. You can find out more on our rehabilitation and adaptive technology pages.
