Emma Kirkland

I have worked in personal injury law since August 1999, initially as a paralegal and then a trainee solicitor. Since qualifying as a solicitor in 2002 I have worked exclusively as a Claimant personal injury lawyer, with a broad range of experience in asbestos disease litigation, accident at work, public liability and road traffic accident claims. Immediately prior to joining Minster Law in February 2019 I was dealing with product liability claims relating to defective medical implants. My current role at Minster sees me working in the serious injury department, assisting a senior lawyer with catastrophic injury claims and running a caseload of my own.

What are you most passionate about in your job?

I believe passionately in securing the best outcome for my clients and providing them with support throughout the claims process, offering clear advice and explaining the steps involved in progressing their injury claim. I understand that client may feel worried and stressed following an accident, and unsure what to expect from the claims process, at a time when they are coming to terms with their injuries and the often life-changing effects that they can bring. I seek to guide my clients through this process as smoothly as possible and ensure they receive appropriate compensation for their injuries and financial losses and a sense of closure at the end of their claim.

What are your personal interests outside of work?

As a mother of three young, energetic boys I do not have much time for hobbies! However, I like to spend as much time as possible outdoors and enjoy walks in the countryside, running and cycling. I also enjoy attending live music events when I get the chance.
