I worked as a paralegal before commencing a training contract specialising in personal injury in 2003, then qualified as a solicitor in 2005. I then worked as a solicitor specialising in complex and high value personal injury claims and clinical negligence claims, until 2010 when I moved to a boutique firm in York and specialised in clinical negligence claims. I moved to Minster Law in 2013 and have built upon my knowledge and experience working on high value and complex personal injury claims specialising in catastrophic injury claims. Over my career I have worked on many high value cases often with values exceeding £1 million. In 2020 I agreed settlements totalling over £11.5 million.

"I thought I’d drop you an email this morning to express our gratitude for the work you have done for my brother. I hadn’t spoken to him for a couple of weeks, but we caught up last night and he brought me up to speed with the fact that claim matters had now come to an end and told me of the offer he’d received / accepted. I was bowled over to say the least, and so happy that he does not have to worry anymore and can focus purely on enjoying the rest of his life. It means so much to me personally that my brother has been so well cared for by you throughout his ordeal and I will never forget how much of a help you have been. I’m sure you are aware of the amazing work that you do and how important and influential it is in making people’s lives the best that can be for the remainder of their life; but I wanted to take this opportunity to remind you of that fact. I simply cannot thank you enough...I’m humbled. Thank you so much."
"After a serious motorcycle accident which left me with life changing injuries, Minster Law and in particular David Sears dealt with my case so professionally always keeping me informed, readily available to answer my questions and worries throughout the three years which concluded in a very successful outcome. I cannot thank them enough and would not hesitate to recommend them."
"I would like to express my sincere thanks to you and all your team at Minster Law for the excellent service you have provided, and who have supported me over the past couple of years after my motorbike accident in 2016. From the very beginning, taking the time and patience to support my wife, when it was so very upsetting through to the end settlement day, your professionalism and ability to show empathy has been outstanding. Although the process has been long time, I have always felt very well informed, from your knowledge and reassurance with your communication through emails and telephone conversations both my wife and myself have always felt at ease. We are now looking forward to our next chapter in life. Thank you once again for all your hard work."
"I have worked quite extensively with Jonathan Bamforth, David Sears and Rebecca Waller over the last 2-3 years. They are knowledgeable, completely dedicated to their clients and excellent in every aspect of how they conduct their cases. I would not hesitate to recommend them highly within the field of catastrophic injury litigation."

“Our case was not an easy case, but we were always kept up to date with the progress and areas we didn’t know were explained to us when needed. I cannot thank David and his team enough and would have no hesitation in recommending him.”
"I just wanted to thank you again for your help in successfully concluding my claim. I can’t thank David, Joanne and Olivia enough for all of your help in dealing with my claim. Life has been very difficult at times since I was injured but I am very grateful for all of the help that you have provided in sourcing rehabilitation and guiding me through what has been a stressful period of my life. You’ve always made things easy for me to understand and kept me informed throughout, answering any questions that I’ve had and setting my mind at ease. I am especially grateful for the financial assistance that was provided through regular interim payments which have helped immensely. I am now looking forward to a brighter future and whilst life may not be the same since I had my accident I am looking forward to a new chapter in my life and the financial security that the claim has brought. I cannot thank you enough for your help and I would not hesitate to recommend you to anyone who has suffered a serious injury."
"Just over a year ago, David Sears came to visit me at xxxx. I had suffered a severe traumatic brain injury (amongst other various physical injuries), so at the time I couldn't really grasp the situation I was in. All I really knew then was that I had been in a motorcycle accident, and due to me having legal cover with my insurance, my brother had organised a legal professional to handle my case. David has managed to resolve this case in a lot less time than he initially implied it may take, and a lot less time than I ever expected. He has been a real friend, always available to answer any questions I may have had, never made me feel stupid, always helpful, yet never for a second did I doubt his professionalism. He has always managed to come across as truly trustworthy and reliable, without dropping his professional characteristics. And after serving almost 20 years in the Royal Air Force, I know that is an exceptional skill. I cannot praise David Sears enough for the way he has handled this case and the result he has achieved. I doubt very much no better person could have been picked, and my gratitude is without measure."
"Firstly, thank you for your counsel. I personally found the whole experience difficult. Through this awful time, I found you calm, friendly and professional manner something I absolutely came to rely on. I noticed more than once that you managed to anticipate problems ahead but were able to put strategies in place to negate the issues. But the real thank you is for how you actually managed myself and xxxx. I cannot imagine what your workload is like. Working in your field I guess you come across horrendous personal stories. But you made us feel that you had put xxxx’s welfare, first and foremost, at the heart of every decision. David, I really cannot express my gratitude enough to you. I have enjoyed your company, advice and guidance. If Minster Law’s policy is to employ people like you and your team, I am sure Minster Law will go from strength to strength."
