How much will it cost to make a claim for personal injury compensation?

What is no win, no fee?

With Minster Law, you can rest easy in the knowledge that, if we pursue your compensation claim, you won’t be asked to pay anything *, whether your claim is successful or not. This is known as a ‘No Win, No Fee’ agreement, or Conditional Fee Agreement.

If your claim is successful, you will receive 100% of the compensation that is awarded to you. Minster Law’s costs will be covered by the other party, and will be in addition to any compensation payment received.

If your personal injury claim is unsuccessful, Minster Law won’t receive any payment for the work undertaken on your behalf. However, the costs of the other party will be covered by an insurance policy that we will, with your agreement, take out on your behalf. You won’t be required to pay the cost of this insurance as this will be submitted as part of your claim against the third party – hence, whether you win or lose, there’s nothing for you to pay.

How much compensation will I be awarded?

The amount of compensation that is awarded will vary according to the facts of the individual injury and circumstances surrounding it. Here at Minster Law, we don’t offer a ‘one-size-fits-all’ assessment – we will work with you to understand the facts of surrounding the accident and any injuries sustained, and will then discuss what you could potentially expect to be awarded for a successful claim.

No matter how big or small the injury that was suffered, a claim for personal injury compensation is intended to provide financial support for any area of your life that has been affected by your accident, such as:

o providing access to relevant medical and/or rehabilitation services
o replacing any loss of earnings (including future earnings) caused as a result of the accident
o offering recompense for pain and suffering caused by your physical or psychological injuries
o refunding any additional expenses incurred due to your accident

In short, any compensation awarded is intended, as far as possible, to restore you to the original personal and financial position you were in prior to your accident, or to compensate you for any elements where this is not possible.
