What is occupier’s liability?
The Occupiers Liability Act 1957 places a duty on the occupiers of premises to take reasonable care see that visitors will be reasonably safe in using the premises for the purpose for which he or she is invited or permitted to be there.
The term ‘occupier’ means the person in control of the land, building, premises, shop, warehouse, car park etc. The ‘occupier’ might be a local authority, a company, an individual or a partnership.
If you have suffered a personal injury on someone else’s premises due to a lack of care, you may be entitled to pursue a claim for compensation.

What is public liability?
Public liability is the duty of care that owners of public places have to ensure these areas are adequately maintained and regularly inspected to ensure they are in a good state of repair.
The most common types of public liability claims are for injuries suffered as a result of poorly maintained pavements or roads.
