Moving Checklist

• Read gas and electric meters to give provider final readings at your old house and new readings in your new house.
• Inform the following of your change of address:
  • Mobile phone
  • Internet/Landline
  • Bank/Building Society
  • Council Tax
  • Car Insurance
  • TV licence
  • Your child’s school
  • Contact Lens provider
• Redirect your mail with Royal Mail
• Inform your employer of your change of address
• Change the address on any magazine subscriptions
• Cancel newspaper deliveries
• If you’re moving out of area, remember to de-register with your doctor and dentist and register with new one in your new area.
• Consider whether you wish to change the locks for you new house in case the previous owner retained any old keys.
• Contact the DVLA and change the address on your driving licence and change of address for vehicle registration documents.
