Corporate Social Responsibility

As a progressive company, Minster Law takes corporate and social responsibility very seriously. CSR is all about doing the right thing – whether that be for our people, our clients, our partners, our local communities or the environment. Our CSR Team is continually working on policies aimed at ensuring Minster Law operates fairly in each of the above areas.

People
“We are nothing without our people” sets out how we approach all things related to our people. We have adopted an approach to our people’s well-being and on-going development that is sustainable and our overarching aim is to create a good working environment, with strong values and a happy workforce.

Environment
With regards to the environment, schemes are in place to lessen the business’ carbon footprint, to recycle materials wherever possible and we have implemented a ‘Green Travel Plan’.

Suppliers
We aim to treat our suppliers fairly and aim to utilise local suppliers, supporting the local economy wherever possible. We also recognise the commercial benefits of positive supplier relationships.

Compliance and Governance
Our Compliance and Governance policy examines our business practises in general and whether they are fair, ethical, and responsible.

Community
We define the “community” as local community within which we operate – currently York and Wakefield. Schemes are being developed to provide links with local schools, colleges, community groups, charitable organisations and Minster Law actively engages in volunteer activities within the local community.

Clients and Partners
We aim to ensure that all communications contain plain language that is easy to understand. The principles of TCF (Treating the Customer Fairly) govern our business practices and we believe that our choice of business partners makes a statement about us as a company.

Charity of the Year
Our corporate charity is Yorkshire Cancer Research. We feel a strong affinity with this charity as it supports our corporate value of ‘people’.

With offices in York and Wakefield, Yorkshire is our heartland and we are proud to be able to support Yorkshire Cancer Research’s vision to support the people of our region in having access to some of the worlds best treatment and therapy.
